Summary
Join Xometry's Data Science team as a Senior Data Scientist! Develop and implement advanced cost prediction models for custom manufacturing. Leverage data to solve complex business challenges and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong statistical expertise, proficiency in machine learning, and 5+ years of relevant experience. This is a 1-year contract position with the potential for extension. You will analyze algorithms, optimize performance, and work in a fast-paced environment. Contribute to impactful solutions by applying data science methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
- A bachelorβs degree is required; Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is highly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in data science or a similar role, with a proven track record of success
- Experience with pricing algorithms and technology-driven product development
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and manage shifting priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
- Knowledge of scientific software principles, including version control, code reproducibility, and deployment practices
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and their application to real-world problems
- Ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable business recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for finding innovative solutions
- Must be able to work core hours aligned with US Eastern Time (GMT-5)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced cost prediction models that accurately forecast costs associated with custom manufacturing
- Analyze existing algorithms for accuracy and performance, provide recommendations for optimization, and update production code as necessary
- Apply data science expertise to tackle complex business problems, providing innovative solutions that improve efficiency and drive growth
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Business, to understand their data needs and deliver impactful solutions
- Implement robust data science methodologies, emphasizing best practices in code reproducibility, version control, and model deployment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Manufacturing or Logistics Industry: Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities within these industries
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
