Senior Data Scientist

Summary

Join YouGov as a Senior Data Scientist and contribute to large-scale statistical programming and data wrangling projects. You will participate in diverse research initiatives for internal and external clients, encompassing areas like US elections, survey quality, and data augmentation. This hands-on role demands analytical, communication, and project management skills. The team develops models and predictions using various data sources, tackling complex data challenges. You will implement and manage large-scale statistical programming projects, exercising creativity and judgment in complex research. Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in data science, statistics, quantitative social science, or other related fields
• Expert proficiency in R for data analysis, modeling, and visualization
• Experience with (and ability to learn) a variety of statistical methods – regression, causal inference, multilevel regression models, classification models, machine learning, MRP, LLMs
• Experience performing statistical analyses on large datasets
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code
• Skilled at communicating results and research methodology though reports

Responsibilities

• Implementation and management of large-scale statistical programming projects
• Exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment while working independently on complex research projects – including methods selection, techniques, and evaluation criteria
• Coordinate with senior stakeholders to understand project requirements
• Work collaboratively with the existing data science team
