Senior Database Administrator

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
• 4-7 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008+ in a production administration
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server high-availability solutions and clustered environments
• Extensive experience writing T-SQL stored procedures and performing query optimization and tuning
• Proven ability to interact effectively with both technical and functional project team members
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities
• Process and detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proven technical leadership abilities with database code designs, standards, and procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on database administration
• Plan, develop, and implement high-availability database strategies, capacity planning, performance tuning, and site monitoring
• Migrate database objects from development to production environments
• Use SQL scripting, reporting, and analysis services to support the application development teams
• Document detailed configurations of production and development environments
• Participate in the planning, implementation, and testing of database recovery procedures under the disaster recovery plan
• Perform software troubleshooting in a timely manner
• Support production, staging, development, and disaster recovery requirements, including handling daily customer-driven minor system configuration change requests
• Implement database change controls & service requests
• Provide technical guidance & direction for develop the DBA team, implementing and ensuring consistent coding designs, standards, and procedures across the team
• Provide 24/7 emergency production support as needed
• Availability for on-call work as part of a regular schedule and as required
