Summary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration, with a strong focus on complex database systems and data management
  • Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, security, backup and security management
  • Experience with database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex database systems that support the project
  • Ensure databases are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning measures to ensure high availability and efficient data processing
  • Optimize queries and indexing strategies to enhance database performance
  • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard sensitive data
  • Develop and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Support data integration efforts by managing ETL processes and ensuring smooth data flow between systems
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot database issues
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and changes
  • Work closely with the Scrum Team, Product Owner, and other project stakeholders to ensure that database solutions align with project requirements and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or similar are highly desirable
  • Experience working on public sector or disaster management projects is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based databases and services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL)
