Summary

Join HIKE2, a leading technology advisory and implementation services provider, as a Senior DBT Architect and Engineer. You will design modular, scalable DBT projects, leveraging your expertise in data modeling and modern data stack tools. Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, gathering requirements and presenting solutions. This role requires 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on DBT experience in production. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and thrive in fast-paced, client-facing environments. HIKE2 offers a competitive salary ($140,000-$165,000/year) plus short-term incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience using DBT in production
  • Strong experience in modern data stack tools: DBT, Airflow, SQL, cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Experience designing modular, scalable DBT projects (using packages, macros, exposures, sources, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling)
  • Comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions
  • Ability to thrive in face-moving, client-facing environments and diplomatically handle challenging conversations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD workflows, and development best practices
  • Self-directed, organized, and capable of leading engagements with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working client facing preferably within a law firm, technology company or consulting organization
  • Previous experience deploying software into a large, highly regulated organization
