Summary

GoFundMe is hiring a Senior Developer Experience Engineer to assist development teams in delivering high-quality software by applying tools, techniques, and methodologies. The role involves educating engineers, providing technical documentation, standardizing development flows, automating away toil, fostering DevOps mentality, working with engineering teams for continuous growth, and maintaining the Dev tools ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in small to mid-sized organization in a DevEx, DevOps, or developer role
  • Expertise with Kubernetes
  • Expertise with Bash and one or more of PHP, Java, Python3, Go
  • Expertise with build and release management (CI/CD pipelines, tagging, artifacts)
  • Experience with Helm
  • Experience with at least one of Terraform, Pulumi
  • Experience with MySQL, Kafka, Redis
  • Experience creating sandbox environments, working examples and presentations

Responsibilities

  • Assist development teams to deliver high-quality software by applying tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Educate engineers on development standard methodologies
  • Provide technical documentation
  • Standardize development flows with programming language support
  • Automate away toil
  • Measure and report on DORA metrics
  • Brainstorm and implement ways to nurture developers and keep the departmentโ€™s CI ecosystem healthy
  • Foster DevOps mentality to push the departmentโ€™s velocity to meet goals
  • Work with engineering teams for continuous collective and individual growth

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unwavering desire to be helpful
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR relevant equivalent technical experience
