Senior DevOps Engineer

Summary

Join Counterpart as a Senior DevOps Engineer and become a thought leader, contributing to our infrastructure, data services, and tooling. You will bridge the gap between Product, Insurance, and Data teams, architecting our systems and ensuring production readiness. Key projects involve modernizing insurance workflows, increasing efficiency with AI, enhancing HR applications, creating new services for the Claims team, and standardizing development processes. You will collaborate with multiple development teams and help shape the engineering team culture. This role requires extensive experience with AWS, Python, relational databases, and Terraform, along with strong communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

• Have a passion for programming and a love of building and experimentation
• Have 5+ years of experience with AWS
• Have 3+ years of experience with Python
• Have 2+ years of experience with relational databases
• Have experience with Terraform
• Have effective communication & documentation skills
• Have experience working on a remote team
• Have experience leading infrastructure architecture and optimization

Responsibilities

• Modernize insurance application workflows. Migrate key parts of the UI and enhance the backend to support the best user experience possible
• Increase efficiency with AI. Collaborate with the Data and Risk Engineering teams to leverage AI across our products via a React frontend. Process documents into actionable, structured information
• Enable small businesses to manage HR with modern software. Enhance our HR application to support its next phase of growth
• Create new services to enable our Claims team to process a larger volume of complex claims across many different insurance lines
• Work with engineering leaders to create documentation, examples, and training for the wider team. Standardize how we do work in our Python and Javascript code bases

Estimated pay range of $185,000 to $220,000
