Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience having spent some of that time as a Platform or β€œDevOps” engineer
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including the ability to present to and influence different levels of stakeholders
  • Expertise in IaC and automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, GitHub Actions, etc
  • Experience in designing and managing cloud architectures, applications, and services on AWS
  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps, automation, orchestration, container and serverless technologies

Responsibilities

  • Establish robust quality and automation best practices, tooling, and processes
  • Create documentation and resources for engineers to leverage those tools effectively
  • Work closely with Technical Leadership to plan and prioritise developer experience focused initiatives
  • Assist teams with hands-on training and delivery as part of their team as a secondment when implementing engineering platforms
  • Design, build, test, and support self-service platforms and tooling for development teams across the organisation
  • Develop a robust, automated, and Continuous Delivery practice within the team, prioritising rapid feedback loops
  • Develop high-quality, timely solutions collaboratively with the team and members throughout the engineering function across various technologies
  • Lead technical projects, including architecture and design decisions, code reviews/pairing, and mentoring of junior team members
  • Assist with technical problem solving and provide technical guidance to other engineers and teams across the organisation on ways to improve, uplift and complement their developer experience
  • Contribute to the improvement of software development lifecycle processes
  • Participate in and, at times, facilitating Engineering Dojos and other ceremonies
