Join ActBlue as a Senior DevOps Engineer II and become a pivotal member of the Developer Platform Team, focusing on enhancing the systems that power our software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement, and improve systems, driving deployment frequency and system reliability. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, contributing to architectural decisions, and documenting systems and processes. You will work with a tech stack including Ruby on Rails, Postgres, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL, and AWS cloud infrastructure. Requirements
- 5-7 years of professional DevOps or Platform Engineering experience with a focus on strengthening cross-team relationships, and building developer tooling
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes (particularly EKS), container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure management in AWS
- Deep experience with monitoring and observability tools and practices, particularly Datadog
- Proven track record leading implementation of CI/CD pipelines that improve developer productivity and software quality
- Experience mentoring other engineers and communicating complex technical concepts effectively
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate developer needs into product requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with complex distributed systems
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar

Responsibilities
- Empower engineers to ship faster and more confidently by modernizing our build, test, and deploy systems for improved reliability and reduced friction
- Accelerate production issue resolution by designing scalable monitoring and observability systems that put critical information at developers' fingertips
- Accelerate company-wide product initiatives by collaborating with Product leaders to deliver mission-critical infrastructure that supports seamless launches and compelling demos
- Drive continuous platform evolution by establishing feedback channels with engineering teams that turn insights into measurable improvements in tool adoption and effectiveness
- Mentor the teams junior engineers, contributing to their technical growth and development
- Contribute to technical discussions that shape company-wide architecture decisions
- Championing design patterns that improve the maintainability, scalability, and reliability of our platform
- Document systems and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ruby on Rails + React applications, service oriented architectures, and GraphQL is a plus
