Senior Director, Platform Security

Requirements

• Have experience working on and leading enterprise application software development teams; in particular, have experience working on development of the security features of software platforms which enable application development
• Have 10+ years in software development leadership roles
• Have experience in the following technical areas: Java, JavaScript, relational databases, applied cryptography, access controls, the web stack (HTML, AJAX, REST, HTTP, etc.)
• Have working experience with software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, and testing
• Have the ability to make continuous improvements in the team through small and iterative changes
• Have strong knowledge of engineering design patterns, processes, and best practices
• Have willingness to work hands-on with the team to identify defects during code review, troubleshoot customer issues and defects, and architect solutions to features and problems
• Have a strong focus on customer outcomes and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business outcomes
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organization and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise application software development teams; in particular, lead the development of the security features of software platforms which enable application development
• Manage teams of 50+ including teams on different continents
• Work with Java, JavaScript, relational databases, applied cryptography, access controls, the web stack (HTML, AJAX, REST, HTTP, etc.)
• Work with software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, and testing
• Make continuous improvements in the team through small and iterative changes
• Work hands-on with the team to identify defects during code review, troubleshoot customer issues and defects, and architect solutions to features and problems
• Focus on customer outcomes and work cross-functionally to achieve business outcomes
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organization and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry
• Have experience leading teams developing on enterprise platforms
• Have experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and/or Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)
• Have experience with applied cryptography: block and streaming cyphers, hashing algorithms, secure key exchange, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), FIPS-compliant systems, and regulatory audit processes
• Have experience building crypto gateways, proxies, or middleware layers for API security
• Have experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native stacks, load balancers, and service mesh architecture
• Have experience with OAuth, OpenID, PASETO, and/or other token authentication standards
• Have proven success on cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders
