Senior Elastic Search Consultant

Summary

Join Codurance, a boutique IT consultancy, as a contractor data engineer expert in Elasticsearch. You will work on a client project for a global leader in corporate social responsibility, collaborating with C-level executives and cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include setting up Elasticsearch architecture, indexing data, pair programming, and applying XP methodologies. The ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of Java experience, proven Elasticsearch expertise, and fluency in English and Spanish. This full-remote position offers flexibility and autonomy, working within core hours to align with stakeholders and the team. Requirements

• A high level of English and Spanish (spoken and written)
• 8+ years of experience with Java and its build system
• Proven experience with setting up Elasticsearch architectures, indexing data and other advanced activities
• Experience working as a freelancer or consultant
• Comfortable with OOP (Object Oriented Programming)

Responsibilities

• Set up an Elasticsearch architecture and indexing data
• Collaborate closely with C-level executives and cross-functional teams and clients to build high-quality, maintainable software
• Engage in pair programming and code reviews to promote best practices and knowledge sharing
• Apply Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), to deliver value in small increments
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment
• Mentor and coach other developers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with a cloud solution (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Familiarity with concepts of multi-layer application designs
• A quality-oriented mindset: follow best practices (Testing (ideally TDD), pair programming, continuous integration/deployment, Agile methodologies) and SOLID principles
• You are passionate about writing and improving (clean) code and systems
• You are a true team player with a collaborative approach, sharing knowledge, and humbly learning from others too
• You are resilient, adaptable and driven
• You are curious and love learning new technologies, techniques, and approaches
