Summary

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 10+ yearsβ experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment
- Must have or be eligible for the P. Eng. designation in Ontario
- Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems: power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systems
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc., using computer-aided tools (e.g. EDSA and ETAP analytical software, CDEGS grounding software, Revit, AutoCad, and MicroStation CAD systems)
- Assist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
- Lead electrical design teams on larger multi-discipline projects
- Liaise internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
- Assist in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature, status, and results of design or study assignments
- Recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensure the necessary coordination occurs
Preferred Qualifications
Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system
