Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a similar discipline
  • 5 plus years engineering experience in planning and design of water/wastewater-related projects
  • Professional Civil Engineer licensed in the State of California
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office (Word and Excel), have excellent writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with design software including ArcGIS and AutoCAD
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, hydraulic modeling and asset management software programs (predominantly Innovyze/AutoDesk InfoWater, InfoSewer, InfoSWMM, InfoWorks ICM and Aquanuity AquaTwin Sewer and AquaTwin Asset)
  • As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check

Responsibilities

  • Leading hydraulic modeling and capacity analyses of pressure (water/recycled water) and open channel flow (sewer) systems, predominantly using Innovyze/AutoDesk and Aquanuity software packages
  • Leading the planning and analysis of water, wastewater and/or recycled water systems and facilities, including master plans, hydraulic modeling studies, capacity analysis, alternatives analysis, condition assessment, cost estimates, risk evaluation, operations and maintenance assessments and other planning studies
  • Manage project phases or technical tasks, ensuring adherence to scope, budget and schedule
  • Delegate to and review the work of early career engineers and offer guidance on technical approaches
  • Capability to work in the field, including inspections and field measurements, as necessary
  • Potential for limited travel within San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, Imperial, and Santa Barbara counties
  • Technical document and graphics preparation
