Senior Engineering Manager

Summary

Join SiteDocs, a Nemetschek Group company, as a Senior Engineering Manager and lead high-performing engineering teams. You will oversee delivery across full-time staff and external vendors, shaping technical direction and execution strategy. This role requires hands-on team leadership and collaboration with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders. You will work across internal and external teams and product lines, elevating engineering culture and execution. The position involves managing multiple teams, hiring and developing engineers, and ensuring technical quality. You will also partner with various teams to align delivery with business needs and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years managing teams
• Experience managing distributed teams and external vendor or contractor relationships
• Strong technical background in modern software development practices, architecture, and infrastructure
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive clarity across multiple product lines or organizations
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional leadership, conflict resolution, and influence
• High emotional intelligence and a track record of building strong, inclusive team cultures

Responsibilities

• Lead 1–2 cross-functional teams, including oversight of external contractors or vendor relationships
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers; foster a culture of growth, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Conduct regular 1:1s, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development across the team
• Shape and communicate technical vision in partnership with Engineering and Product leadership
• Ensure technical quality in deliverables, code health, and architectural alignment with long-term platform goals
• Drive planning and execution for product initiatives, balancing internal and vendor contributions
• Partner with Product, Design, and Go-To-Market teams to align delivery with business needs
• Represent Engineering in leadership forums, translating between technical and non-technical audiences
• Drive alignment in multi-brand or integration contexts, ensuring transparency and momentum
• Implement and evolve engineering workflows using agile methodologies while keeping process lean and purpose-driven
• Track key engineering KPIs
• Continuously refine team execution, culture, and system-level resilience through structured improvements
• Stay current on relevant technologies and industry trends
• Support technical exploration, R&D, and architectural experimentation that aligns with business priorities
• Own operational excellence: system scalability, performance, and reliability
