Senior Engineering Manager, Developer Enablement

Summary

Join Globalization Partners as a Software Engineering Manager (Cloud Engineering) and lead teams of engineers in building platform and infrastructure-based tools. You will build and mentor your team, providing both technical and motivational leadership. Collaborate with various teams to build roadmaps and execute plans to meet business objectives. You will also help innovate and implement best development practices. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of software engineering and DevOps experience, strong experience with various technologies (Node.js, Java, Spring, React, REST, SQL, etc.), and 3+ years leading complex software development projects. Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment and working with globally distributed teams is highly desirable.

Requirements

• Solid software engineering and DevOps background, with 10+ years of experience developing enterprise-scale web/cloud-based commercial software products
• Strong experience with both back-end, front-end and deployment technologies –Node.js, Java, Spring, React, REST, SQL, etc
• 3+ years of experience leading complex software development projects through all phases of the software development life cycle using Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong experience with back-end technologies – Java, Node.js, React. etc
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining developer experience tooling for CI/CD, security, networks, and tenancy management
• End to end delivery of tools in past

Responsibilities

• Build the team by attracting and hiring strong talented engineers who continue to raise talent standards in G-P
• Independently lead the team of Software and DevOps engineers, providing both hands-on technical and motivational leadership
• Provide leadership mentoring and coaching to the team members where each of them can grow both technically and personally
• Provide technical leadership to the team where you drive and participate in discovery, solutioning and design exercises
• Collaborate with Product owners, Architects, Engineering leadership and peers in building the roadmap for your teams
• Create and drive the detailed planning, scheduling and execution of roadmap plans to meeting business objectives
• Help innovate and inculcate best development practices ranging from developer efficiency, testing strategies, design practices, security, etc
• Support to recruit engineering personnel, technical staffing, and feature teams formation

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of modern cloud architectures and technologies, experience with AWS and Serverless is a plus
• Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is highly desirable
• Experience in working with globally distributed teams
