Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience cultivating and managing diverse, inclusive, and high-performing engineering teams
- Bring 7+ years of experience building and rapidly scaling real-time solutions within the software engineering discipline
- Have 3+ years of experience with hands-on native mobile application development
- Excel at hiring, promoting, and performing talent reviews for software engineers with care and intention
- Have successfully led product engineering teams working on customer-facing and/or business-critical systems
- Have experience leveraging observability and data analysis tools like Datadog and Looker
- Be familiar with the iOS and Google Play release processes and release monitoring
- Understand modern iOS development tech stacks and best practices
- Possess excellent analytical skills and communicate effectively across multiple modalities
- Take initiative, operate with accountability and deliver results
- Be bright, kind, and motivated by challenge
- Be able to prioritize, simplify, and make a path toward results and not dwell on perfection
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 8-10 software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and teamwork while supporting their professional growth through feedback, delegation, coaching, and mentorship
- Drive the team’s roadmap and prioritize features and technical investments in alignment with stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and other engineering teams to deliver customer and business value
- Build a diverse and talented team by sourcing, identifying, and hiring candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and complementing the team’s strengths and capabilities
- Define and align the team’s scope, goals, and key metrics with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership
- Guide architectural and implementation decisions to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Establish and maintain effective processes, ceremonies, and norms to ensure the team operates as a healthy, self-organized unit
- Take accountability for the team’s performance and consistently deliver sustainable, measurable results
- Build strong partnerships across the organization, gaining alignment and support to achieve desired outcomes
- Use high-quality data analysis and empirical evidence to frame business opportunities or challenges for leadership, the team, and cross-functional partners
- Manage the team’s app release rotations to ensure seamless delivery
- Monitor feedback from our iOS and Android applications and prioritize bug fixes
