Senior Estimator

Summary

Join a well-established construction company as an Estimator, contributing to high-end residential and commercial projects. Analyze architectural and engineering plans to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and subcontractors. Develop accurate budgets, assess supplier and subcontractor quotes, and identify potential cost risks. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers, and communicate financial insights to stakeholders. Support contract negotiations and stay updated on market trends. Maintain a comprehensive cost database to enhance the accuracy of future estimates. Requirements

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications
• Proficiency in cost estimating software, particularly Buildsoft Cubit
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial projections
• Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise effectively with vendors and contractors
• Ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in residential and commercial construction estimating
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Estimator, preferably in building and general construction
• Strong proficiency in Buildsoft Cubit Estimating System
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans, and blueprints
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical skills to accurately interpret data and adjust estimates as required

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project scope
• Prepare accurate cost estimates by assessing materials, labour, and equipment costs
• Utilise Buildsoft Cubit Estimating System to develop precise and reliable estimates
• Develop material and labour estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project budgets
• Manage vendor and contractor bids, verifying competitiveness and cost-effectiveness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and key stakeholders
• Present estimates and reports to management, providing clear insights to support strategic decision-making
• Monitor and track changes in project scope, adjusting estimates accordingly to maintain financial accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of CAD software is a plus
