Senior FPGA Design Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a 12-month contract role for a Senior or Principal FPGA Design Engineer in Broomfield, CO. The role involves designing digital hardware and FPGAs for space-based systems with a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 8 or more years related experience (for Senior position)
• Principal FPGA Design Engineer – BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience

Responsibilities

• Design digital hardware including FPGA development for space-based, high reliability electronic systems
• Assignments include designs which will include SOC architectures utilizing soft-core processors, digital filters, image processing algorithms, and communication interfaces/protocols
• Design and implement test fixtures including test plans for both chip-level and board level environments and create reusable circuits that can be utilized across multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical board design is nice to have
• Strong design, documentation, and implementation of high-speed digital electronics, FPGAs, and embedded processor systems are desired
• Expertise in VHDL/Verilog, System Verilog and OVM/UVM, and Modelsim/Questa simulator is a plus
• Familiarity with cPCI, Ethernet, DSP, 1553, VPX, Spacewire or Firewire is a plus
• Familiarity with Mentor Graphics DxD, Hyperlynx for schematic design and SI analysis is a plus
• Knowledge of space radiation effects is a plus
• Familiarity with ASIC tools, libraries, design flow and fabrication is a plus
• Space or military experience highly desired, but not required

Benefits

• This role will work a hybrid schedule- consisting of onsite/in-office work between 1-3 days per week onsite with the remainder of the week working remotely (Monday- Friday with flexible hours)
• The pay rate for the Senior Engineer is $66.11 - $83.41 per hour W2, and for the Principal Engineer it's $74.04 - $93.51 per hour W2
