Senior Frontend Engineer

This role focuses on designing and implementing high-quality, scalable frontend solutions for Canva's Education offering. You will collaborate with various teams, take ownership of technical initiatives, and mentor other engineers. Requirements

• Advanced Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and state management libraries (e.g., MobX)
• Ability to write performant, reusable code for UI components, including appropriate testing
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns
• Enjoy working collaboratively with team members and communicating effectively

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality, scalable frontend solutions that improve user experiences and drive the adoption of Canva’s Education offering
• Translate complex product requirements into robust architectures
• Write high-quality code
• Collaborate with engineers across teams
• Ensure seamless deployment and operation in production environments
• Work closely with leads, designers, and product managers to deliver features and experiments to our customers worldwide
• Take ownership of technical initiatives
• Contribute to strategic technical decisions
• Champion the adoption of best practices and new technologies
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Create Design Docs to align on high level/architectural solutions before proceeding to implementation
• Mentor and empower other engineers
