As a key member of the team, you will design, improve, and debug complex, scalable distributed systems, optimizing performance and ensuring seamless platform operations. You will collaborate with team members on architectural decisions, write scalable and testable code, and mentor junior engineers. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of experience building high-performance web applications with strong proficiency in React and familiarity with various technologies including Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Go. Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of full-time work experience building highly performant web applications with outstanding UX
  • Strong proficiency in React with recent, hands-on experience building modern web applications
  • Proven ability to work across the stack, even if frontend is your strength
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product & Design to design, implement and iterate on high impact end-to-end product experiences
  • Experience working with relational databases and key-value stores
  • Experience analyzing, benchmarking and optimizing web application page load performance across the entire stack

Responsibilities

  • Design, improve, and debug complex, scalable distributed systems
  • Find solutions to optimize bottle-necks and general system wide performance
  • Always on the lookout to keep the tech stack updated with current standards
  • Write extensible scalable and test-driven code
  • Take part in technical planning and architectural decision-making
  • Collaborate with team members on designing scalable, well tested, and well documented web architecture, including APIs and backend systems
  • Be able to take responsibility and ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical spec reviews
  • Provide mentorship to interns and junior engineers

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with our full-stack technologies is a big plus: Ruby on Rails (highly preferred), TypeScript, GraphQL, and Go
