Senior Fullstack Engineer

Summary

The Senior Frontend Engineer role involves envisioning and building complex frontend systems and abstractions for ML products, collaborating with users to improve the platform, and owning end-to-end projects. The ideal candidate has experience shipping rich interactive frontends, is comfortable with data-intensive interfaces, and can navigate ambiguity. They do not need prior ML experience but should be open to learning. Engineers at Baseten also function as product managers.

Requirements

• Have experience shipping rich, interactive frontends
• Be comfortable building interfaces that are data-intensive and building tools for technical audiences
• Establish standards and best-practices for other frontend developers
• Can own products and projects end-to-end
• Are comfortable with navigating ambiguity and enjoy the journey as much as the destination
• Motivated by customer problems and find joy in creating simple, elegant solutions that avoid unnecessary complexity
• Exercise good judgment on tradeoffs and tools needed to solve the problem and don’t over index on trendy/fashionable tech unless it’s the right tool for the job

Responsibilities

• Envision and build elegant systems and abstractions around the complexities our users encounter in shipping their ML products
• Empower js-averse users to create complex UIs
• Make ML models serving and monitoring more approachable
• Work closely with users, learning from their past struggles in operationalizing ML, onboarding them onto the platform, and turning learnings into ideas for improving Baseten
• Own products and projects end-to-end
