Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

Join Quorum, a leading provider of workflow software for government affairs professionals, as a Senior Software Engineer. Based in Washington, D.C., with a global presence, Quorum offers mission-critical solutions to over 2,000 customers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of high-quality datasets, data pipelines, and services using a full-stack approach with technologies like Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS. You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to design and launch new features, taking ownership of entire feature sets and influencing broad technical decisions. Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience at a company that produces software for end users as its primary function
• Professional experience writing application code in backend languages like Python, Go, PHP, Ruby, Node.js, etc
• Professional experience with any relational databases, including writing SQL queries, table and index design and system tuning for performance
• Ability and motivation to design complex technical systems, write technical design documentation, and implement design
• Care about the quality of code and a strong desire to build the skills of those around through code review and mentorship
• Deep care about the code written and significant technical skills solving real-world problems or the drive to quickly develop them
• Interest in learning new development languages and platforms used by the wider team
• Highly-motivated self-starter who wants to make valuable contributions to a team from day 1
• Engaged learner—willing to expand skills, get hands dirty, and find solutions to challenging problems that require tradeoffs
• Desire to work in a fun environment where you can form real friendships with other professionals and have a strong sense of belonging at a growing startup
• Willingness to pitch in wherever needed, from helping in recruiting to supporting customers
• Looking to join a dynamic team immediately

Responsibilities

• Ship new code to production within the first week
• Write code at several levels of the stack, from infrastructure to the API to the UI within the first month
• Take ownership of an entire set of features and make decisions that impact many clients within the first six months
• Help guide the team in making broad technical decisions impacting the stack, products, and company growth within the first year
• Develop high quality datasets
• Operate data pipelines
• Develop data models
• Build services and APIs to support server-side application logic
• Monitor for and improve performance
• Integrate with the front-end
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering and product teams to design and launch new product features
