Senior IBM Developer

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IBM RPG development including RPGLE, RPGSQL,  CL (Control Language)
• Proven experience in database administration (DB2, SQL) and optimization
• Solid understanding of reporting and analytics development, including custom reports and data extraction
• Deep knowledge of the manufacturing and distribution industry, with the ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize applications and systems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IBM RPG-based applications and systems for various business functions
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, ensuring high-quality code and efficient development processes
• Implement and optimize applications on the VAI S2K platform, ensuring system integration and performance
• Oversee and participate in database administration tasks, including the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of databases (primarily SQL)
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions for business stakeholders, including custom reports and data extraction tools
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs
• Continuously improve system functionality and performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise
• Guide best practices and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
• Support the manufacturing and distribution operations with software solutions that enhance business processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in VAI S2K platform
• Experience with the VAI S2K solution including CRM, Warehouse Management Platform and Analytics packages
• Familiarity with advanced reporting and analytics tools and frameworks
• Experience with additional programming languages or platforms (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus
• Knowledge of industry-specific best practices for software development and system integration in the manufacturing and distribution sectors
