Summary
Join BeyondTrust as a Sr. Indirect Tax Specialist and be responsible for all indirect taxes, including compliance, record retention, and research. You will prepare information for tax partners and supervisors, review and maintain exemption certificates, and proactively reach out to customers. You will also research and respond to tax inquiries, monitor tax mailboxes, resolve government notices, perform tax research, compile data for filings, reconcile accounts, maintain documentation, and support audits. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of indirect tax experience. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of indirect tax experience
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task, self-start, and self-direct work in an independent and fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of sales/use/VAT/GST tax law and aptitude to perform tax research
- Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and implement multiple complex projects
- Communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven analytical and problem-resolution skills
- Ability to work with teams in diverse functional areas with effective interpersonal skills necessary to build positive, productive, and effective professional working relationships
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize in meeting multiple goals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Intermediate Excel skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide information to third-party tax partners and direct supervisor regarding monthly sales & use tax and VAT/GST filings
- Review, set up, and maintain exemption certificates, working closely with the sales team and order management
- Proactive outreach to customers to obtain new exemption certificates
- Research and respond to inquiries and customer tax disputes from internal and external customers
- Monitor the shared tax mailbox and respond in a timely way to both internal and external requests
- Review and resolve notices from government agencies and maintain a notice log
- Perform tax research, including monitoring and interpreting tax law changes
- Compile data for tax filings, property tax, and business licenses
- Reconcile all indirect tax accounts
- Maintain documentation related to indirect tax processes and internal controls
- Provide support for indirect tax audits
- Special projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA preferred
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, Salesforce, AvaTax, Coupa
