Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, including exposure to international tax matters and multi-jurisdictional compliance
  • Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes across different tax jurisdictions
  • Experience with transfer pricing regulations and preparation of transfer pricing documentation
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
  • Understanding of international tax treaties and how they impact business operations
  • Proven ability to develop and implement tax strategies that align with business objectives
  • Proficiency in financial systems, such as Netsuite and PowerBI
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals
  • Comfortable collaborating with international teams in a cross-functional capacity
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and satisfaction in working from a home office in a remote work environment
  • Ability to participate in meetings across global time zones within reasonable limits
  • Growth-mindset in addressing challenges in a dynamic setting

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate, VAT, indirect taxes, and other applicable taxes) across multiple jurisdictions
  • Review tax filings and assist in managing audits, reviews, and interactions with tax authorities, including coordination with third-party tax specialists
  • Preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial statement disclosures in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP)
  • Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation to ensure they meet regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
  • Identify and assess tax risks related to operations across multiple jurisdictions and work with the business to mitigate these risks
  • Monitor changes in local and international tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide updates to senior management
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies across multiple jurisdictions, minimizing tax liabilities while remaining compliant with local laws
  • Provide guidance on the tax impact of international expansion and cross-border transactions
  • Monitor tax positions taken by the company, ensuring they are in line with legal requirements and minimizing exposure to audits and penalties
  • Collaborate with the finance and legal teams to assess tax implications for business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate transactions
  • Act as the point of contact for tax-related questions from various departments (e.g., legal, finance, HR, operations)
  • Collaborate with finance and operation team members to drive tax efficiency and ensure alignment with overall company goals
  • Oversee the work of external tax consultants and advisors when needed
  • Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness throughout the organization, providing training and support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or advanced degree
  • Fluency in multiple languages
