Senior Industrial Engineer

Summary

Join a premium poultry processor as a Senior Industrial Engineer in this remote role with travel. This position requires developing and maintaining engineered standards, improving process efficiency, designing workplace layouts, optimizing supply chain management, and managing inventory. You will also conduct statistical analysis, time and motion studies, and manage projects. A bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing are required. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and experience leading projects across multiple functions.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment
• Have food manufacturing experience
• Demonstrate experience supporting a manufacturing supply chain that involves various manufacturing steps or processes
• Have experience leading industrial engineering projects and studies across multiple functions

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineered standards
• Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes
• Design the physical layout of a workplace, including the arrangement of equipment, workstations, and storage areas
• Optimize the flow of materials, information, and resources in the supply chain
• Manage the flow of goods in a production system, including ordering, receiving, storing, and shipping
• Ensure products and services meet specified quality standards through statistical analysis and quality control
• Analyze and improve the efficiency of worker movements and processes through time and motion studies
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired standard of work

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
• Possess Green Belt – six-sigma certification
• Have strong analytical skills in research, reporting, and interpretation of data and metrics
• Have the ability to train managers within the facilities on IE topics and tools
• Have knowledge of various computer programs: AutoCAD, SAP, Simulation Modeling, Time Management Software
