Remote Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a full-time infrastructure engineer to help design, build, and manage Observable's cloud systems. As a backend engineer or SRE with a fondness for production, you will participate in the dev team's oncall rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience working with production systems, cloud providers, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), security best practices, etc
• Ability to design, implement, and operate the infrastructure that powers the Observable platform with autonomy
• An enthusiasm for data, visualization, and technology

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new infrastructure and processes to support Observable’s growing cloud services and features
• Perform site reliability and infrastructure maintenance work for existing Observable production and staging environments. (Manage servers! Tweak WAF rules! Optimize SQL queries! And more!)
• Participate in the dev team’s oncall rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues
