Senior iOS Engineer

Summary

Join onX as a Senior iOS Engineer and contribute to the development of new user-facing features for a new iOS app. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing high-quality code, and releasing customer-facing enhancements. You will leverage data analysis and user behavior design to identify opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate possesses at least eight years of professional software development experience, with at least four years focused on iOS development.

Requirements

• A minimum of Eight (8) years of professional software development experience is required, where iOS development was your professional focus for at least four (4) or more years
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, and/or gRPC
• Proficiency in git
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Curiosity around user behavior and data analysis to inform and improve experiment ideas
• Excitement for the responsibility of maintaining mission critical software for your customers
• You believe that your profession is a craft, and you’re driven to improve every day
• You are an advocate for the customer and their experience

Responsibilities

• Develop new user-facing features in a new iOS app
• Write quality code, tests and review pull requests promptly
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities using data analysis and user behavior design
• Release customer facing enhancements every two weeks
• Learn when to optimize for speed vs. quality to increase learnings
• Lead by example - embody our company values

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with software requirements in mission critical situations
• Interest in business metrics and how Engineers can be impactful
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming using Combine
• Knowledge of modern iOS development libraries
• Continuous Integration and/or Unit Testing
• Knows when to optimize for speed vs. quality in the context of experiment velocity
• Ability to work effectively with a distributed team
