Summary
Join Chainguard as a fully remote IT Support Specialist, based in the U.S. Eastern Time zone, to provide exceptional IT experiences for our remote-first culture. You will be the go-to person for resolving IT issues, ensuring smooth onboarding for new employees, and maintaining our internal IT systems. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting macOS and Linux endpoints, managing MDMs and security tooling, and providing timely and helpful support to colleagues. You will also contribute to improving our internal IT documentation and processes. This role requires experience in IT support, particularly in remote or fast-paced startup environments, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.
Requirements
- Experience in IT support, especially in a remote or fast-paced startup environment
- Comfort with macOS, Linux , and mobile device management (MDM) platforms
- Clear communicator with a gift for explaining tech to non-technical people
- Empathy, patience, and a people-first mindset
- Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Security never takes a holiday! You are security-conscious, with an eye for systems that scale
- A team player excited to help support your teammates when they’ve had too many triple lattes
- Ability to travel on a quarterly basis
Responsibilities
- Be the hero in the Slack thread when someone can’t login to Okta)
- Take pride in responding quickly and kindly to IT support requests via Slack, email, or our ticketing system
- Provision laptops, software, and systems in a single bound, so new Chainguardians hit the ground running and don’t have to ask, “Wait, what’s my password?”
- Team up with HR and Recruiting to make onboarding feel more “welcome party” and less “technical scavenger hunt
- Keep our internal IT docs clear, helpful, and typo-free
- Troubleshoot issues across macOS and Linux endpoints
- Keep an eye on MDMs and security tooling, because “compliance” doesn’t mean “complacent.”
- Help out at offsites with A/V setups and know exactly which cable no one ever remembers
- Jump into on-call rotations (some holidays) with good vibes, a charged battery pack, and a 16 ounce triple latte
- Suggest improvements, automate what’s repetitive, and generally make things smoother, smarter, and less frustrating for everyone
