You will design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices. Responsibilities include implementing Spring Boot applications, leveraging event-driven architecture with Kafka, optimizing Oracle database integrations, and contributing to strong engineering standards. The role requires 5+ years of backend software development experience with Java and Spring Boot, along with expertise in microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development using Java 8 or above
- Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful microservices
- Solid understanding of Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for automated build and deployment
- Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms
- Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and working with databases
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, message-driven systems, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices
Responsibilities
- Design scalable solutions: Architect, develop, and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability
- Deliver high-quality code: Implement Spring Boot applications following best practices in clean code, testing, and performance optimization
- Drive modern deployment practices: Collaborate with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes, and integrate CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins
- Leverage event-driven architecture: Use Kafka to build robust, asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services
- Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient Oracle database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness
- Contribute to strong engineering standards: Engage in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and contribute to high engineering standards
- Mentor and grow the team: Provide guidance to junior developers and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performance tuning and monitoring Java applications in production
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace
- Knowledge of security best practices in backend development
- Cloud platform experience is a plus
