Senior Legal Counsel

Summary

The job is for a Senior Legal Counsel position at OFX, a global provider of online international payment services. The role involves providing legal advice, managing legal risk, drafting contracts, and supporting new product launches. The position is based in Sydney (with flexible working arrangements) or remotely from locations across Australia.

Requirements

• Law degree with superior academic credentials from a nationally-recognised law school
• Current Australian practicing certificate

Responsibilities

• Providing legal advice and consultation to senior management in relation to a variety of corporate, commercial, legal, licensing and regulatory issues
• Working with the Global Executive Team and the OFX Group board in relation to key strategic and commercial initiatives
• Managing legal risk and advising on global regulatory changes and the impacts on compliance obligations, including payments regulations and sanctions advice, and working with financial services regulators across the regions
• Supporting the launch of new products and capabilities, including the new client platform and business transformations
• Drafting, reviewing and updating a range of commercial contracts, with clients, partners and service providers
• Drafting, reviewing and updating product and customer terms and conditions and policies including the privacy policy
• Drafting and reviewing internal policies and procedures to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• 7 years+ PQE
• Experience as a lawyer in a top tier law firm
• Previous inhouse experience is beneficial but not essential
• Financial services (payments) experience is ideal but not essential
