Join Atomi's innovative AI/ML team as a Senior Machine Learning Ops Engineer. Lead efforts to optimize the AI marking system, expanding its capabilities and ensuring reliable operation. This role requires strong machine learning, NLP, and MLOps expertise, along with experience in cloud deployment and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Have a strong foundation in machine learning, NLP and testing principles with first-hand experience building, fine-tuning and deploying deep learning models on the cloud
• Have proven experience with data processing, storage solutions, and implementing scalable data pipelines
• Have strong expertise in designing ML systems with a good understanding of SRE practices
• Have experience building and maintaining ML infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in production environments with a strong understanding of DevOps fundamentals
• Have strong expertise with Python coding and hands-on experience with common tools in the MLOps ecosystem (e.g. PyTorch, FAISS, NVIDIA Merlin, Amazon SageMaker, DBT, Metaflow, Prometheus), web-frameworks (e.g. FastAPI), cloud services (e.g. AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)
• Have the ability to tackle complex problems, dealing with both the intricacies of language processing and the challenges of applying AI in real-world settings
• Be enthusiastic working in an evolving scale-up environment
• Be an excellent communicator with all types of stakeholders across the business

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to optimise our AI Marking system, expanding its capabilities to a wider range of more complex assessment and question types whilst ensuring performance
• Design, develop, and deploy new machine learning/NLP solutions to improve how we mark and deliver personalised feedback to a growing number of users
• Maintain and improve the ML infrastructure and platforms that power our AI systems, ensuring scalable and reliable model deployment across our services
• Maintain and help refine our sophisticated data strategies, including active learning pipelines designed to enhance machine learning effectiveness
• Leverage and improve our existing monitoring systems to identify performance, scalability and reliability opportunities
• Champion best DevOps/SRE practices, ensuring our AI solutions are reliable, resilient, and cost-effective
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, domain experts and product managers to integrate AI solutions seamlessly, as well as to identify business and growth opportunities
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI and machine learning, particularly in the context of educational technology, to drive innovation within our products

Preferred Qualifications

• Be familiar with LLMs, Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning, and NLP testing frameworks
• Be familiar with data warehousing solutions (e.g. BigQuery)
