Summary

The Senior Manager, Development is a remote position at NAPAWF that reports to the Chief Development Officer. The role involves grant and fundraising management, donor cultivation and communications, and staff management & organizational leadership. The salary range is $100,000 - $110,000 per year with benefits including a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, vacation days, sick leave, flexible spending program options, personal/family leave, and paid vacation between December 25 and January 1 of each year.

Requirements

  • Experience with fundraising, with 6-8 years of experience working with donors. Familiarity with how to conduct donor research is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting
  • Legal degree is a plus
  • Ability to handle donor inquiries with the utmost discretion and application of institutional knowledge
  • Strong sense of personal pride in and responsibility for one’s work
  • Active listener with the ability to synthesize information and translate into strategy and action plans
  • Self-motivation, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Employs an asset and inquiry-based approach to problem solving and is able to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team

  • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with donor databases; experience with EveryAction preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute annual fundraising goals and development plan in alignment with organizational priorities and strategic vision from start to finish
  • Manage outsourced grants firm and coordinate the drafting of grant proposals and reports for current and prospective funders
  • Coordinate with the Director of Finance to develop grant financials for proposals and reports and track fundraising metrics
  • Oversee funder tracking tools and systems to keep them up-to-date and accurate
  • Manage calendar of grant proposals and reporting deadlines. Build tools and systems to ensure timely and streamlined submission of all requests and requirements
  • Implement event sponsorship efforts, including developing requests, determining benefits, drafting request letters, and managing follow-up and benefit fulfillment
  • Manage and execute board and other individual-giving annual solicitations, gift receipts, and gift tracking
  • Support the CDO & ED around donor cultivation and retention, including meeting preparation, follow-up, and drafting communications to current and potential donors
  • Serve as a point person to keep funders engaged by developing or strengthening avenues for regular communication and updates
  • Work with the Director of Communications and Chief Strategy and Program Officer to link development efforts to programming, including collaborating about the timing of outreach, messaging, etc., and support content development
  • Work with the CDO and ED to expand the portfolio of funders and donors to the organization, including prospect research and identifying new fundraising strategies
  • Supervise and support at least one full-time Development Associate
  • In consultation with the CDO, develop work plans for the Development team and for Development Associate
  • Support utilization and scheduling of workflow, grant and fundraising management tools, and funder/donor management tools for the development team
