Summary
Join NPR, a leading multimedia organization, as a Senior Manager of Fundraising to spearhead philanthropic initiatives. You will design and execute strategies to boost lifetime donor value, working with current donors contributing up to $1,000 annually. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to achieve fundraising goals. You will manage projects, create fundraising materials, and build relationships with stakeholders. Requirements
- 6+ years experience in fundraising at a nonprofit organization
- 4+ years of hands-on experience working with CRM and marketing tools
- 2+ years of experience tracking and reporting on efforts using metrics
- Strong practical experience with identifying and executing segmentation across fundraising channels
- Ability to understand and use metrics to optimize performance
- Demonstrated interest in the media landscape, with knowledge of the latest trends and best practices
- Outstanding collaboration skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and gain the respect and support of internal and external clients; experience working closely with creative people, teams and freelancers
- Strong listening, writing, and speaking skills
- Cultivate and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
Responsibilities
- Lead projects that retain and upgrade NPR and NPR Network donors
- Drive initiatives from kick-off through execution; set goals; manage timelines, approvals, comms, and reports; present concepts and deliverables to stakeholders
- Write effective project briefs for teams, freelancers and vendors; create fundraising materials as needed
- Manage an annual calendar, prioritizing revenue opportunities across multiple initiatives and teams
- Develop a robust pipeline of donors for cultivation by mid-level and major donor teams
- Weave retention tactics into donor experiences as a fan/listener/reader on NPR digital platforms
- Identity and prioritize fundraising opportunities to retain current supporters; Support personalized and behavior-driven retention
- Devise and execute channel, messaging and incentive tests
- In collaboration with teammates focused on donor acquisition and product, work to optimize landing pages, forms and supporter experience
- Develop and update internal-facing process and guideline documents
- Build trusting relationships with stakeholders that create a culture of teamwork and collaboration in driving fundraising results
- Hire, lead and nurture an Associate, Donor Lifetime Value in meeting team goals; Coordinate the activities of associates to ensure efficient and effective operations; Motivate them through challenges and ensure they have the support and coaching they need to excel and grow in their careers
- Collaborate with fundraising, comms, editorial, marketing, and product teams at NPR
- Work directly with Member Station partners, consultants, vendors, and agencies to drive results, as needed
- Give and receive feedback with curiosity and a learner's mindset
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at a media organization
- Experience managing complex subscription and/or federated nonprofit membership programs preferred
- Experience with automation based on scenarios, rules, triggers, and/or conditions
