Summary

Join Natera as a Regional Phlebotomy Supervisor, overseeing In-Office Phlebotomists (IOPs) and Patient Service Centers (PSCs). You will manage staff, ensure operational compliance, and provide phlebotomy coverage. Responsibilities include performance reviews, skills development, and maintaining a safe work environment. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience plus 2+ years managerial experience
  • 5+ years high-level customer care experience
  • Managing/supervising phlebotomy operations and/or teams experience, along with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word proficiency
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • National Phlebotomy Certification required, except where regulatory regulations are mandated depending upon state
  • Pass post-offer criminal background check
  • Complete pre-employment physical exam
  • Have or obtain TB clearance (TB Clearance must be within 12 months)
  • Have Hep B vaccination documentation or written declination

Responsibilities

  • Manage phlebotomy program requirements
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations
  • Report KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to product management leadership on a weekly basis
  • Track collected specimens in Skedulo or LIMS or Secure Gdoc as needed to resolve any issues
  • Track overall draw volumes, IOP/PSC profitability, personnel records, etc
  • When required, maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following Natera established procedures
  • Resolve unusual test orders by contacting the authorized ordering or treating health care provider, i.e., physician, pathologist, or reference laboratory; referring unresolved orders back to the originator for further clarification; notifying internal Natera team of unresolved orders
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Enhance Natera’s phlebotomy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Report any CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) or NCR (Nonconformance Report) issues to internal Natera product management leadership team
  • May require onboarding, training, and retraining of individual phlebotomists, as deemed necessary to support patient volume increases
  • Maintain a current status with Natera’s training requirements
  • Supervise the activities of all regional staff and the operations of their assigned IOPs and PSCs according to established policies and procedures
  • Perform supervisory duties such as attendance, hiring staff, disciplinary action, terminations, performance reviews, skills development, IOP/PSC compliance, etc
  • Maintain an active working role as a phlebotomist to provide coverage at IOPs/PSCs as needed
  • Travel to PSCs or client offices as needed to provide phlebotomy coverage and account management
  • Perform quarterly PSC and IOP inspections and yearly skills assessments as required by standard operating policies
  • Ensure staff adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Actively and consistently review SOPs to ensure content is current and provide recommendations to Supervisor with proposed updates
  • Conduct periodic inspections to ensure suitable handling of patients and specimens, and all regulatory and permit requirements are met per each State’s requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree
  • Previous financial and budgetary experience
  • Bilingual language skills preferred for English and Spanish
