Senior Manager, Security Engineering

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in security engineering and people management
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing security engineering teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Deep understanding of security architectures, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern development practices
• Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, including experience with threat modeling and incident response planning
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally, effectively communicate complex technical concepts, and align security objectives with business goals
• A track record of implementing innovative security solutions and staying ahead of evolving threats
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Lead the Security Engineering team, providing mentorship, direction, and fostering a collaborative environment to drive performance and growth
• Design and implement robust security architectures, processes, and tools to protect Life360’s systems, applications, and data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and IT, to integrate security best practices into development lifecycles and operational workflows
• Develop and execute security strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals and evolving threats
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, and managing incident response plans to address security events

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH
