Join Henry Schein One as a Sr. Software Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in building Dentrix, a leading dental practice management system. You will drive excellence in engineering, quality assurance, and product delivery while fostering a high-performance culture. This key role involves aligning engineering with strategic objectives, empowering teams, and ensuring security and reliability. You will lead team leaders and engineers through the SDLC, collaborating across product, architecture, and business leadership. The position is remote within the US, with a preference for Utah-based candidates who can come to the office 1-2 days a week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive software development experience with our tech stack, with 3+ years in people management
  • Proven success leading distributed or hybrid engineering teams at scale
  • Excellent knowledge of SDLC, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices
  • Ability to lead through influence, resolve conflict, and build consensus across functions
  • Clear, empathetic communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
  • Analytical, strategic thinker who can balance tech debt, innovation, and delivery
  • Passionate about people development and organizational growth

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow multiple engineering teams delivering mission-critical software to dental practices and their patients
  • Directly oversee team leaders and influence engineering practices, technical execution, and outcomes across the organization
  • Drive clarity, accountability, and alignment through effective communication of goals, priorities, and status to team members and stakeholders
  • Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development to attract and retain top talent
  • Establish and enforce standards for software engineering, analysis, QA, and project delivery
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Product and UX to deliver customer-centric solutions that align with strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and manage project scope, forecasts, risks, and budgets
  • Promote mature DevOps practices, continuous integration/deployment, and test-driven development

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with REST APIs, Java and AWS a plus
