Requirements

  • Extensive experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a tech environment and have a passion for leading individuals and teams to continuously improve
  • Excellent people management skills, with a track record of effectively managing and developing a diverse team
  • Strong process management skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Familiarity with key components of our tech stack: Ruby on Rails (RoR), ReactJS, NodeJS

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 9-12 direct reports, including Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and QA Analysts/Test Engineers
  • Oversee and refine engineering processes, ensuring alignment with our Shape Up product development model
  • Facilitate the dynamic re-teaming of personnel into new mission teams at the beginning of each cycle, ensuring smooth transitions and effective team dynamics, in alignment with the Shape Up model
  • Work closely with Product Managers, and leads from Customer Success, SOC, and People departments to ensure project success and alignment with business goals
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and career development support to team members
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop performance improvement plans if needed
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring a high standard of technical and cultural fit

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, particularly experience with the Shape Up model is a plus
