Senior Medical Science Liaison, Oncology/Hematology

Requirements

• Possess an advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline; a doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline is strongly preferred
• Have at least 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience (or equivalent)
• Possess problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and translate specific territory and corporate needs into actions that achieve objectives
• Exhibit leadership attributes aligned with company-wide initiatives
• Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers, Powerful Questions, and Active Listening
• Meet healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
• Be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
• Live in the territory or be willing to relocate within the territory

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain high-impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans, aligned with Hematology, Oncology medical and scientific objectives, focusing on quality
• Learn to use data and analytics to identify and maximize opportunities within your territory
• Identify, gain access to, and develop professional, customer-centric relationships with external experts (EEs) in therapeutic areas within your assigned geography
• Deliver on territory plan objectives, meet assigned project deadlines, and achieve annual functional goals
• Generate and document meaningful data point observations (DPOs)
• Practice core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization
• Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures, including accurate and timely documentation of HCP interactions
• Provide education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers
• Continuously educate yourself on market issues/trends, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas of interest related to specific business responsibilities, including creating awareness and relationships for AbbVie in the medical community
• Support research initiatives across development at the request of R&D, including site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management
• Create, maintain, and collaborate in relationships with cross-functional partnerships, including in-field commercial teams, site management and monitoring, clinical research associates, the Therapeutic Area, HEOR, and Medical Outcome Science Liaisons
• Work with in-field commercial teams to develop and execute Account plans to support and meet shared business objectives
