Requirements

  • Possess an advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline; a doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline is strongly preferred
  • Have significant clinical and/or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area (may be accepted in lieu of education requirements)
  • Have 2 or more years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or equivalent
  • Possess problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and translate specific territory and corporate needs into actions that achieve objectives
  • Exhibit leadership attributes aligned with company-wide initiatives
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers, Powerful Questions, and Active Listening
  • Meet healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
  • Be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Live in the territory or be willing to relocate within the territory

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain high-impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans, aligned with Hematology, Oncology medical and scientific objectives, focusing on quality
  • Learn to use data and analytics to seek out and maximize opportunities within their territory
  • Identify, gain access to, and develop professional customer-centric relationships with external experts (EEs) in therapeutic areas within the assigned geography
  • Deliver on territory plan objectives, meet assigned project deadlines, and achieve annual functional goals
  • Generate and document meaningful data point observations (DPOs)
  • Practice core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures, including accurate and timely documentation related to HCP interactions
  • Provide education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers
  • Continuously educate oneself on market issues/trends, product knowledge, and new therapeutic areas of interest as it pertains to specific business responsibilities, including creating awareness and relationships for AbbVie in the Medical community
  • Support research initiatives across development at the request of R&D, including site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management
  • Create, maintain, and collaborate in relationships with Cross-Functional partnerships, including in-field commercial teams, engagement with site management and monitoring and clinical research associates, the Therapeutic Area, HEOR, and with the Medical Outcome Science Liaisons
  • Work with in-field commercial teams to develop and execute Account plans designed to support and meet shared business objectives
