Summary

Join Ceros' dynamic Ops Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer and build impactful internal applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless technologies. You will own and lead the development of new features, maintain existing AI-powered tools, and collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, and Finance. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals and experience with various technologies, including SQL and AWS. While AI experience is a plus, a genuine interest in learning and applying AI technologies is essential. This remote-first role offers opportunities for continuous learning and growth within a supportive and innovative team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in: JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • SQL
  • AWS, particularly serverless tools like Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, and Aurora
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling including CI/CD (especially GitHub Actions) and infrastructure as code
  • Comfortable taking ownership of end-to-end systems, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across time zones with some team overlap expected
  • Curiosity about AI/ML and a strong desire to learn how to use tools like OpenAI APIs, prompt engineering, or vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate)
  • A genuine interest in understanding how Sales, CS, and Finance teams work—and tailoring tools to fit their workflows

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the development of internal applications built using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Aurora, S3, SQS)
  • Design and implement new features based on operational team needs (Sales, CS, Finance), working directly with stakeholders to understand and solve real problems
  • Maintain and improve existing tools—many powered by AI—that automate workflows or provide business-critical insights
  • Work on AI-powered features as a core part of the role—you’ll help build and maintain tools that use technologies like LLMs, prompt engineering, and vector search. You don’t need to be an AI expert on day one, but you should be excited to learn and apply these technologies quickly
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our GTM teams operate, including their sales processes and workflows within HubSpot, in order to build tools that drive real efficiency and impact
  • Enhance DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), monitoring, and infrastructure automation
  • Collaborate with other engineers and data professionals to ensure applications are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
  • Evaluate third-party services and tools (including AI vendors) and make build-vs-buy recommendations
  • Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and pragmatic innovation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python
  • Familiarity with Redshift, Metabase, or other analytics tools
  • Experience working with HubSpot, Slack integrations, or similar business operations tools
  • Interest or side project experience in AI or ML, even if informal

Benefits

  • Stock options
  • Paid parental leave: 12 weeks for primary caregivers, 4 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Flexible time off
  • Paid Sick days
  • Stipend for your home office setup
  • Excellent gear (Macbook Pro, external monitor, etc.)
  • Stipend towards experiences in which Cerosians can collaborate, educate, and create social connections with one another
  • Unlimited access to co-working spaces around the globe
