Summary

Join Airbnb's AirCover team and help manage and grow the AirCover business. This role focuses on managing AirCover's insurance partners supporting the Host Liability Insurance program. You will partner with internal teams (actuaries, business development, legal, operations, finance, product management) and external insurance brokers and carrier leadership. The work will impact every Airbnb stay and shape interactions between guests and hosts. A typical day involves cultivating external relationships, managing partnerships, navigating internal discussions, developing innovative products, optimizing team operations, translating strategic objectives, advising leadership, thriving in ambiguous environments, and assessing business relationships. This is a US-remote eligible position.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in partnerships at an Insurer or Broker or equivalent experience managing insurance partnerships at a tech company
  • Demonstrated history managing complex insurance relationships spanning either multiple lines or multiple geographies
  • Extensive experience and comfort with liability insurance programs
  • Willing to develop and introduce new products or ways of working to support wider business objectives
  • Highly attentive to detail and obsessed with finding and sharing new ways to optimize the work our team does
  • Experienced with providing strategic advice to leadership
  • Comfortable working in a high ambiguity environment with a large amount of cross functional stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and grow external relationships with existing partners while identifying new opportunities for growth
  • Manage ongoing partnerships, supporting our liability insurance programs in a thoughtful manner that balances accountability and realism
  • Skillfully navigate internal discussions around metrics and business performance
  • Develop and introduce innovative products or processes aligned with broader business objectives
  • Exhibit high attention to detail and proactively identify new ways to optimize team operations
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable tasks, defining clear success criteria for each
  • Provide strategic advice to leadership on key market players, assessing strengths, weaknesses, and recommending optimal choices for Airbnb
  • Thrive in high-ambiguity environments, collaborating effectively with numerous cross-functional stakeholders
  • Assess and determine when a business relationship has reached its natural end point, acting decisively as needed

Preferred Qualifications
