Summary

Join Deel as a Senior Payroll Associate and take ownership of payroll processing, guiding junior team members. You will leverage your deep technical knowledge of payroll systems and regulations to implement process improvements and ensure compliance. This role involves overseeing payroll data processing, computing payrolls accurately, and responding to payroll-related inquiries. You will also handle voluntary payroll deductions, garnishments, and maintain payroll records. The position requires strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. Requirements

  • Native Korean language expertise and English conversational expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • 2-3 years of experience in payroll or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing of payroll data for employees
  • Computes and processes multiple pay cycle payrolls accurately included year-end tax return and in a timely manner in accordance with the Labor law and maintains all related records
  • Completes payroll & Social insurance and responds to payroll-related inquiries from relevant government and/or regulatory agencies
  • Submission monthly withholding tax report and new application / termination report for social insurance timely
  • Sets up and reconciles voluntary payroll deductions, prepares reports, identifies and researches exceptions, and remits payments
  • Assistance Processes garnishments including child supports, tax levies, student loans, etc
  • Assists the team with messaging, writing, editing, researching and related support for external and internal communications
  • Maintains payroll related files and records included social insurance and severance pay
  • Maintains records and prepares disbursement requests
  • Uses specialized computer software and input all required data related payroll timely
  • Assist with all activities necessary to processing payroll, including maintaining related records
  • Assist resolve any discrepancies surrounding payroll issues with urgency
  • Other duties as assigned
