Summary
Join Samsara's People Technology & Operations team as a Workday expert. You will lead Workday configuration for Core HCM and Advanced Compensation, build complex reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires extensive Workday experience, strong HR knowledge, and the ability to lead and configure compensation grids. You will partner with internal teams to streamline operations and improve processes. The position is open to US-based candidates outside the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area. Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience working for fast-growing, global companies
- 4+ years experience in Workday configuration for Core HCM and Advanced Compensation required
- Experience in Workday business process configuration, security, and organization configuration
- Experience in Workday HCM, Benefits, and Core HCM modules in U.S. and International locations
- Experience writing and completing test scenarios for system implementations and enhancements
- Experience leading and configuring Compensation grids for the annual review process
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, HR processes, and compliance. Experience documenting and analyzing requirements. Ability to adjust and realign requirements with stakeholders to create the most optimal solution
- Partner with developers in Workday Studio and Integrations, able to analyze benefits processes and troubleshoot integrations to benefit vendors
- Familiar with Agile methodologies and prioritization
- Ability to prioritize workload and deliver enhancements or fixes on time without supervision. Provide accurate timelines, follow-up, and required documentation for change management
Responsibilities
- Lead the Core HCM and Advance Compensation Workday configuration
- Configure and enhance the hire, change job, and termination business processes
- Build and complex Workday reports
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Compensation, HR, and other internal teams to incorporate requirements into Workday, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals
- Review proposed system changes to identify opportunities for process improvement and reuse, driving efficiency across the organization
- Build and modify custom reports for standard optimization
- Triage and configure Workday enhancements or fixes for HCM, Compensation, Payroll, and reporting
- Build and maintain organizational hierarchies, custom objects, and custom security roles
- Partner with People Operations teams to solidify and document business requirements related to programs to be executed through Workday and other technologies
- Scope and prioritize incoming technology fixes and enhancements
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsaraβs cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Performance, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, and Talent
- Knowledge of employment compliance and legal best practices
- Experience working with Jira, Zendesk, and other business applications integrating to Workday
