Senior Platform Architect

Summary

Join MetroStar as a Sr. Platform Architect and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions for the Department of State. You will architect, integrate, and develop custom ServiceNow solutions to streamline processes and enhance productivity. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, expertise in ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, Security Operations), and experience with integrations and data migration. You will also lead code reviews, testing, and deployment, mentor other developers, and produce technical documentation. A Secret security clearance and 5+ years of ServiceNow architecture experience are required, along with specific ServiceNow certifications.

Requirements

• An active Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Architect or similar role
• Expert level experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions to support the division's IT modernization efforts
• Extensive experience in ServiceNow architecture, integration, and custom development, along with a strong background in leveraging ServiceNow to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and improve service delivery
• Proven experience with ServiceNow implementations, including modules like ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and Security Operations
• Expertise in ServiceNow integrations with external systems and third-party applications
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow data models, workflows, and scripting (JavaScript, REST APIs)
• Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, custom development, and troubleshooting
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize ServiceNow solutions to meet the Department of State ADD’s business needs
• Lead the end-to-end architecture of ServiceNow implementations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Provide expertise in customizing ServiceNow applications and modules such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and Security Operations
• Integrate ServiceNow with external systems and third-party tools, ensuring seamless data flow and robust security
• Develop and implement strategies for data migration, workflow automation, and performance tuning
• Ensure that ServiceNow solutions meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and security
• Lead code reviews, quality assurance testing, and deployment planning for ServiceNow updates and new features
• Serve as a technical lead and mentor for other developers, guiding the team in ServiceNow development and best practices
• Produce detailed technical documentation for system designs, configurations, and integration processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ServiceNow functionality and performance
• Stay up-to-date with ServiceNow updates and new features, and continuously recommend improvements to the system
• Work closely with the DOS ADD team to ensure that solutions align with strategic goals and IT modernization initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or similar certifications
• Familiarity with ServiceNow's ITOM capabilities, Service Catalog, and Reporting
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web technologies for custom development within ServiceNow
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (Jira, Jenkins, GitHub)
• Knowledge of data security practices and integration security protocols
