Summary

Wrapbook is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer I to work remotely within the USA or Canada. The role involves designing and building tools for software release process automation, improving system monitoring, resolving performance bottlenecks, planning infrastructure growth, participating in on-call rotation, and preventing recurrence of incidents. The candidate should have experience with infrastructure technologies, Kubernetes, Linux/Unix operating systems, networking principles, scripting languages like Python or Ruby, and handling critical incidents for production systems.

Requirements

  • You have a strong understanding of infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, containerization and cloud computing
  • Experience running applications at scale in Kubernetes
  • You have familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems
  • You have a grasp on networking principles and protocols
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
  • Experience handling critical incidents for production systems
  • You have experience working with product and data engineering teams
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Bash. Experience with Go is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new tools to automate the software release process
  • Improve the monitoring of our systems by identifying gaps and/or inefficiencies and proposing solutions
  • Work closely with other platform engineers, product developers and analytics engineers to find, define and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks
  • Plan the growth of Wrapbookโ€™s infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to incidents that impact Wrapbookโ€™s availability and provide support for product engineers with customer incidents
  • Use your on-call shift to prevent recurrence of incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RDMS such as PostgreSQL
  • Experience with document-oriented databases such as Elasticsearch
  • Experience with data warehousing tools, techniques and practices
