Summary

The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for all procurement activities associated with sourcing and purchasing equipment and construction services in support of assigned projects, working closely with suppliers and internal clients. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5 years of experience in procurement for an EPC Contractor, excellent communication skills, organizational skills, time management skills, understanding of contract language, experience in contract and pricing negotiations, strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks, create processes, identify process improvements, learn quickly about projects or products, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, and work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Preferred qualifications include experience in a renewable energy field and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 5 years performing procurement for an EPC Contractor, electrical contractor, engineer, equipment supplier or project developer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • A clear understanding of contract language
  • Experience in contract and pricing negotiations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to create processes and identify the need for process improvements
  • The ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed
  • Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and Teams or related software

Responsibilities

  • Manages RFPs, supplier agreements, and negotiations as needed
  • Identifies suppliers for projects, including in new markets
  • Performs supplier check-ins, prepares and collaborates on supplier scorecards, supports supplier business review meetings, manages supplier improvement plans, and establishes long-term relationships with suppliers
  • Conducts change order reviews, supports Legal with the creation of Master Supply Agreements, monitors market trends, new suppliers, and emerging technologies, creates innovative procurement processes and tools, identifies process improvements, researches and proposes cost reduction strategies, manages supplier and pricing database, conducts lessons learned, maintains organized procurement document management system, performs other procurement related duties as assigned by Manager
  • Prepares, develops, and manages Project Procurement Plan of critical equipment and services for assigned projects and business development opportunities
