Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio showcasing complex, user-centered solutions
• Experience with data-driven tools or workflows (e.g., payroll, finance, HR tech, or similar systems)
• Strong UX skills: You’re skilled in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and creating intuitive interfaces
• Proficiency with design tools: Comfortable using Figma (or similar) to produce high-quality designs
• Ability to simplify the complex: You can turn technical, compliance-heavy processes into clear and easy-to-use solutions
• Collaboration and communication: You work well with cross-functional teams and can clearly present and explain design decisions
• Self-motivated and adaptable: You’re proactive, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Own the design process: Lead end-to-end design projects for payroll products, from research and ideation to prototyping and delivery
• Simplify complex workflows: Design user-friendly experiences for payroll tasks like pay schedules, tax compliance, and reporting
• Work with users: Conduct research, usability testing, and gather feedback to understand user pain points and improve your designs
• Collaborate with teams: Partner with product managers, engineers, and payroll subject-matter experts to deliver impactful solutions
• Create clarity and consistency: Contribute to and maintain design systems that ensure visual and functional consistency across payroll products
• Deliver results: Advocate for the user while balancing technical and business constraints to create designs that drive measurable impact
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing SaaS platforms for payroll, HRIS, finance, or compliance-related systems
• Familiarity with workforce management tools or employee time tracking
• Understanding of the restaurant industry or other operationally complex businesses
• Understanding of web technologies like HTML/CSS/JavaScript
