Senior Product Designer

Summary

Join Smith.ai as a Senior Product Designer to shape and launch features for our AI-powered receptionist product and internal tools. You will collaborate with various teams, including founders, product, operations, customer support, and marketing. Responsibilities include collaborating on product design and implementation, facilitating cross-functional teamwork, overseeing project execution, defining requirements, building the design system, and documenting designs for engineering. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of product design experience in startups, experience with remote work, proficiency in Figma, and a proven track record in the product lifecycle. Spanish proficiency is a plus. This is a fully remote, full-time position offering a competitive salary, equity, and benefits.

Requirements

• Based in or operates primarily within the Eastern Time Zone (EST)
• 5+ years in Product Design roles
• Experience in startups (Seed to Series B)
• Successful team-based remote work environment experience (e.g., Slack, Teams)
• Adept in Figma (our design tool of choice) and have used project management and development tools (e.g., ClickUp, GitHub)
• Proven success in different stages of the product lifecycle, from shaping to execution to refinement

Responsibilities

• Collaborate: Partner with founders, Product & Ops teams, customer support, and marketing to design and implement new products/features
• Facilitate Cross-Functional Teamwork: Initiate and focus on collaboration across engineering, marketing, support, and operations teams
• Drive Project Execution: Oversee projects through completion and follow through with warranty work
• Define Requirements: Contribute to product definition and requirements to shape development
• Build the Design System: Support and grow the fledgling design system to ensure consistency and scalability
• Document for Engineering: Record design decisions and prepare work for engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish proficiency (conversational to fluent) to support collaboration with our Spain-based engineering team
• Product design experience within B2B product-focussed organizations
• SaaS, AI/ML, or SMB-focused product experience
• An understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, and other AI mechanisms

• This is a full-time position with a salary that ranges between $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
