Join Toast as a Senior Product Manager for Sous Chef, our AI-powered assistant for restaurants. Lead the development of key internal systems that power Sous Chef's intelligence and accuracy, partnering with engineering, machine learning, design, and product leaders. You will be the architect of Sous Chef's most critical infrastructure and personalization systems, building user interfaces that bring AI systems to life. Your work will impact thousands of restaurants globally. Drive initiatives to improve accuracy, launch A/B testing tools, and partner with ML and QA teams to enhance response quality. This remote role, preferably in East Coast time zones (NYC or Boston), requires strong technical fluency and experience in AI/ML, infrastructure, or personalization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in AI/ML, infrastructure, or personalization
- Experience using LLMs, and preferably with prompt tuning and/or conversational agents
- Proven success delivering system-level products that interface with multiple teams and technologies
- Strong technical fluency; comfortable working with engineers on architecture, APIs, and data pipelines
- Experience shipping platform capabilities such as memory, permissions, or data ingestion tools
- Ability to manage ambiguity, set clear priorities, and influence across a large organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of key internal systems that power Sous Chef’s intelligence, accuracy, and context awareness
- Improve system-wide quality and permissions enforcement
- Unlock personalization capabilities for all Toast customers
- Partner closely with engineering, machine learning, design, and product leaders to evolve Sous Chef from a helpful assistant into a deeply personalized, context-aware agent for every Toast customer
- Be the architect of Sous Chef’s most critical infrastructure and personalization systems
- Go deep on how AI systems reason, respond, and learn—then build the user interfaces that bring it to life
- Drive initiatives to achieve and maintain benchmarks for accuracy and run evals
- Define and launch tooling to enable no-code A/B testing of model configurations and system prompts
- Partner with ML and QA teams to systematize response quality improvements across models and use cases
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with data governance and permissions in enterprise products
- Experience working on AI or personalization in a B2B or vertical SaaS environment
- Background in hospitality, operations, or consumer analytics
